Parts of a computer- CPU, Monitor, Mouse and Keyboard


A keyboard is a device that has all the alphabetical keys and other number keys from 0 to 9. It is used to type numbers, words in the computer screen. When you press a key 'A', it shows you A on the computer screen.

In a computer system, there are four parts like CPU, Monitor and Mouse. CPU stands for Central Processing Unit of the computer system. It performs all the functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. You can connect several other things such as Pen drives, Speakers and Hard drives.

Main Machine is CPU, all the other parts are connected to it like Monitor, Mouse, Pen drive, Speakers, Hard drives etc. CPU is connected to power switch. Power is supplied from CPU to all other parts. Computer only understands binary language which  is comprised of only 0 and 1. So, every command that you give to the computer is first converted into binary language of 0 and 1. This conversion takes place in CPU. CPU looks like a rectangular Box. It has motherboard inside.
