Law of reflection of light says that the angle of incidence and angle of reflection are equal
Laws of reflection says that angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of refraction. Angle of incidence is the angle at which the incident ray strikes the mirror. Also, angle of reflection is the angle at which angle the reflected ray leaves the mirror.
Formula for Laws of Reflection:
If i = angle of incidence
r = angle of refraction
then, i = r.
Example supporting the Laws of reflection:
If a ray is incident on the plane mirror at an angle of 45 degree, then what is the angle of reflection?
Answer: Since According to Laws of reflection angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection, then i = r.
Here, i = 45 degree
then, r = i (Laws of reflection)
therefore, r = 45 degree.
