Found a Genetic sequence? Search it on GenBank to get complete information about it

GenBank is a biological database for genetic sequences. GenBank is a part of INSDC. INSDC is International Nucleic Sequence Database Collaboration.

INSDC = DDBJ + ENA + GenBank(at NCBI)

DDBJ = DNA Data Bank of Japan
ENA = European Nucleotide Archive

All the three organizations involved exchange the data daily. In every two months, there is a GenBank release. Release notes provides complete information about release and notifications of future alterations in GenBank. Every release has GenBank growth statistics for traditional as well as WGS division.

There are various ways in which we can search data on the GenBank in order to recover the data.
The best one is to type the name of gene in the search bar and then click on search.

 It will show you a number of items. You can choose the one you find more relevant.
